A good set of success criteria covers all aspects of a product that impact its success. Usually, you need around 10 criteria to achieve this. Below are two examples of success criteria that are strong, but not always detailed. Detailed criteria are research-based.
(For a tabletop board game designed to educate teenagers about personal finance)
Educational Accuracy: The game should accurately represent real-world financial concepts and practices, such as budgeting, saving, investing, credit, and taxes.
Engaging Gameplay: The game should be fun and exciting to play, with a variety of challenges and rewards that keep players interested.
Age-Appropriate Content: The game should be designed for teenagers, with content that is relevant to their lives and experiences.
Real-World Relevance: The game should help players understand how personal finance decisions can impact their future, such as buying a car, buying a house, and planning for retirement.
Skill-Building: The game should help players develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills related to personal finance.
Positive Reinforcement: The game should reward positive financial behaviours, such as saving money and investing wisely.
Accessibility: The game should be easy to learn and play, with clear instructions and simple rules.
Durable material: The game should be made with high-quality materials that are durable and visually appealing.
Engaging Artwork: The game should feature attractive and engaging artwork that enhances the overall experience and reinforces the educational message.
(For a fundraising sports event, an "Aquathlon" - swimming and running.)
Safety First: Prioritize participant safety throughout the event. Ensure a sufficient number of qualified lifeguards are present to monitor the swimming area. Have a well-equipped first-aid station staffed by trained medical personnel.
Clear Communication: Effectively communicate event details, rules, and safety guidelines to all participants.
Well-Marked Course: Clearly mark the swimming and running courses to prevent confusion and accidents.
Weather Contingency Plan: Develop a plan to address potential weather-related challenges, such as rain, storms, or extreme heat.
Age-Appropriate Events: Offer age-appropriate distances and challenges to cater to participants of all ages and abilities.
Positive Atmosphere: Create a fun and supportive atmosphere to encourage family participation and enjoyment.
Fundraising Goal Achievement: Exceed the fundraising target set for the chosen charity.
Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community by involving local businesses, organizations, and volunteers.
Strong Volunteer Support: Recruit and train a dedicated team of volunteers to assist with various tasks.
Effective Marketing and Promotion: Utilize various marketing channels to attract participants and generate public interest.
Smooth Event Execution: Ensure the event runs smoothly, with minimal delays and disruptions.

It can be difficult to define a comprehensive set of success criteria from the top of your head. This will partly be because you need to do some research to figure out what the components of a successful product in your project are. Here is a tip, though: Ask Toddle AI for a good set to start. Be a critical user of AI. Don't blindly copy-paste, adjust what you find to your needs, try different prompts. Start with:
Give me 15 success criteria for ...
E.g.
Give me 15 success criteria for a knee brace for teenage athletes.
Give me 15 success criteria for a cookbook with traditional Bosnian recipes.
Give me 15 success criteria for a longboard that provides a comfortable ride.
Give me 15 success criteria for a board game that promotes the idea of life balance.
Or more advanced:
Prompt 1: Give me 15 success criteria for a cookbook with traditional Bosnian recipes.
Prompt 2: Add a few success criteria for when this cookbook would be targeted specifically at teenagers.
Or:
Prompt 1: Give me 15 success criteria for a knee brace.
Prompt 2: Add a few success criteria that focus in more detail on the physiology of the knee.
Note that the prompts are all quite specific. And note that asking for 15 probably only gives you around 10 good criteria.
